5.0 out of 5 stars A 'must-have'!, 9 Aug 2007
By H. Lomas "UnicornDreams" (UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Clinton has a great way of explaining the methods, which are not dissimilar to Parelli. Some of the methods I found a little harder than Parelli but the best part of Clinton's book are the 'mistakes horses make' and 'mistakes handlers make' sections at the end of each exercise. I haven't found another book that covers what can go wrong in the training as well as Clinton does. He provides real scenarios and how to get back on track - this helped me so much, I could correct myself and my horse as we went and the books tips made sure we got the right results and fast.
He demonstrates every exercise with both a Western horse and an English one and their owners, proving that these techniques apply to any discipline - being about gaining a working partnership with your horse.
A 'must-have' for anyone trying to get a more responsive horse who is respectful of you!

5.0 out of 5 stars Downunder horsemanship, 17 Aug 2009
By Rosie (Scotland) - See all my reviews
A great book with step by step guides to the basic techniques together with the all important what to do when it doesn't work perfectly. It advises what the handler may be doing wrong and why the horse may not be reacting as expected. There are also the comments from the 2 guinea pigs. Their feedback is really informative and easy to understand. The photos are also very clear. A great back up to the tv show.
